Creature Seattle has closed after filing for bankruptcy six weeks ago after 14 years in business, following legal action launched by Time Inc over unpaid bills for ads.
The agency, which was founded by Matt Peterson, formerly of Wieden & Kennedy, and Jim Haven, formerly of Goodby Silverstein & Partners, had held a stake in Creature of London until 2013.
In a statement, the partners of Creature London said they were saddened to hear of the Seattle shop's closure.
Dan Shute, managing partner and co-founder of Creature London, said: "Matt and Jim are great guys, and we wish them all the best with whatever they go on to do next – I know they’d been going through some tough times.
"I’m very happy to confirm, though, that the state of their business in the US has no impact whatsoever on Creature of London, which has been fully independent for some time now, and is in fine fettle, continuing to grow. And occasionally getting nominated for Olivier Awards."
