Creativity: MCCA looks to law to protect creative work

The Marketing Communications Consultants Association (MCCA) is taking a stand against clients who abuse the pitch process by setting up a scheme to protect the creative concepts of its members.

The MCCA Pitch Protection service is available free to members, who register their pitch documents with the organisation's representative, Nicholson Graham & Jones.

MCCA chairman Matthew Hooper commented: "Unless we take steps to protect ideas we run the risk of losing respect and recognition for our creativity."

It is hoped the service will ensure clarity over intellectual property and act as a deterrent to unscrupulous clients.
