Courvoisier was served almost 127 years ago at the grand opening of the Eiffel Tower in 1889. To celebrate this landmark event, the activation, which launched earlier this month at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, with further ones taking place in Milan, Stockholm, Vienna, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Munich between now and July, takes guests on a virtual lift to the viewing platform at the top of the ‘Iron Lady’.
Visitors can watch a video depicting the heritage and craftsmen behind Courvoisier Artisan Edition before heading back ‘on the ground’, where they are invited to capture the moment with a souvenir selfie against the Paris skyline. The experience continues with a tasting of the Courvoisier Artisan Edition collection, either neat or in a signature side car cocktail made by an expert courvoisier bartender.
The Artisan Edition range, a global travel retail exclusive, aims to highlight the important influence that Courvoisier’s hand selected wooden barrels play on the aroma and flavour of the final spirit. The Artisan Edition includes: VS – Double Oak, matured initially in virgin French oak and then old cognac casks to create harmonious depth of flavour, VSOP – Triple Oak, a small batch cognac which is double matured in new and ancient French oak casks before being married in wooden vats and Ultime, triple aged in new Tronçais types and Limousin casks followed by ancient oak.
