The special edition goes on sale on 25 November and will feature a timeline of Christmas stamps through the years, the images of which are hidden behind each door.
Country Life has worked closely with Royal Mail on the initiative.
The cover image is of the famous painting, Toyshop Window by Timoleon Lobrichon, with 24 windows cut directly into the cover.
IPC claims Country Life, which published an advent calendar cover last year, is producing the only cover of its kind on a UK weekly magazine.
The issue will also include a guide to the best Christmas crackers, a comprehensive gift listing and a feature on the art of letter writing.
The magazine's average circulation in the period January 2008 to December 2008 was 39,674 copies.
