- Country Life, the upmarket rural lifestyle magazine, is to launch itself on the Internet.
IPC Magazines, which owns the 101 year old title, will launch the online version in early 1999.
The Country Life Website will include a fully searchable property database of Country Life's premium properties, editorial content from the magazine as well as new content written expressly for the web.
Content areas of the site will include the Country Life Drawing Room, which will include a library of book reviews, a book ordering service and a gallery of images from the Country Life archive. The Country Life Diary will comprise both a diary of country and arts events, reviews and listings that are updated daily. Other features will include a bulletin board, a weekly competition and an arts and antiques directory.
Evelyn Webster, publisher of Country Life, said: "This is an opportunity to reach new and existing markets whilst fulfilling the ever-increasing demand for Country Life overseas."
