The calendar features a traditional Christmas image with 24 windows die-cut directly into the cover, which is a process never used on a UK weekly magazine before.
Behind the windows are 24 images, each chosen by the Country Life team to illustrate different rural scenes.
Mark Hedges, Country Life editor, said: "After 110 years, Country Life is still dedicated to bringing its readers the very best of country life every week.
"Innovation is hugely important, particularly for a weekly magazine, and we're sure this latest example will keep readers excited and entertained in the countdown to Christmas."
The special Christmas edition of the magazine also includes gift ideas, winter gardening features and a Christmas pudding World Cup, in which editorial staff eat their way through a tasting of 16 puddings, to help readers choose the perfect one for the day.
The advent calendar cover was printed by Wyndeham Impact in Basingstoke and produced by Polestar Chantry.
John Crouch, sales director of Wyndeham Impact, said: "Impact is continually striving for new achievements. Our lengthy experience producing covers helped in meeting the production challenges of this historic issue."
