ITV has teamed up with Pushbutton, Tamblin and Two Way TV to give interactive TV viewers the chance to watch alternative video streams of Coronation Street content through the red button on the TV remote.
In addition, fans will be offered behind-the-scenes access, news and gossip from the street, video clips and previews of future episodes.
There will also be interviews with the cast, montages of the history of the street and competitions offering fans the chance to visit the Street at Granada Studios or win merchandise from the show.
ITV Mobile, built and maintained by Mobile Interactive Group and Refresh Mobile, will offer video clips of key moments from the show, forthcoming storylines and a text-alert Corrie Club for prior warning of major news.
Ringtones and wallpapers featuring popular 'Corrie' stars will also be available to buy.
The latest mobile and interactive service follows on from ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity...' and 'X Factor' services, also developed through Mobile Interactive Group, which included a 24-hour live video portal, mobile video blog service, exclusive video content and Wap microsite.
Jane Marshall, commercial development director for ITV Consumer, said: "With 'Corrie' joining 'I'm a Celebrity...' and 'X Factor', ITV's mobile, online and red-button services give viewers the best interactive entertainment offered by any broadcaster."
