Fans were given access to all three murders - filmed to act as decoys to prevent details of the real ending from getting out - plus a look behind the scenes at the filming of each one.

The three versions showed Liam being shot during Tony's stag night paint-balling session, pushed from a high balcony on the morning of the event and being knocked down by a car that night.

As ‘murder week' came to a close with Liam's murder on Friday (17 October), fans were logging on to to watch the alternative endings.

They could also watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with directors, stuntmen and actors.

It is the second time ITV.com users have been able to view an alternate ending online. In 2007, Coronation Street fans were able to see Tracy Barlow being found not guilty of murdering Charlie Stubbs on the site just minutes after the real guilty verdict was shown on TV.
