Copa90 has unveiled the "50/50" campaign, which seeks to highlight 50 players who dominate women’s football, from current players set to take part in this summer's World Cup to former stars.
The company commissioned an illustration team comprising 50% female and 50% male to create artworks for the campaign under three categories, "legends", "trailblazers" and "wonderkids". It features players including US legend Abby Wambach, ex-England footballer and presenter Alex Scott and Italy goalkeeper Laura Giuliani.
The illustrations will be released one by one on a daily basis, leading up to the start of the tournament on 7 June, when an exhibition of all the images will be displayed at Copa90's clubhouse in Paris, then on to Lyon for the semi-finals and final.
Rebecca Smith, global executive director of the women's game at Copa90, said: "The artworks are an important part of Copa90’s mission to entertain and educate fans about the stories and personalities behind the global women’s football superstars. We are also going to add to the collection throughout the tournament, with new images inspired by the players whose performances stand out and create a buzz."
