Contenders vye for McCann Erickson post on Five documentary

LONDON - Five is to screen an 'Apprentice' style recruitment documentary, with advertising agency McCann Erickson Worldwide featuring as one of six firms candidates will be competing to join.

The six hour-long episode series is pencilled in for an early 2006 slot, with each episode focusing on five candidates' attempts to win a job with a different firm each week.

Candidates will be put through a variety of group and individual tests and assessed by a panel including body language and recruitment experts.

In the episode featuring McCann Erickson, the successful candidate gets the chance of a graduate level job in the firm's Manchester office.

Other firms involved in the programme, which has been made by Shine, include Thomson Holidays, Barnard Marcus Estate Agents, a wedding consultancy and a car dealership in Surrey.

A spokeswoman for Five said: "Each week will be a different job where the candidates will be put through their paces."
