Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has called on fellow footballers to pledge 1% of their salaries to a collective fund that supports football charities around the world.

Mata is the first member of the Common Goal movement and is looking to assemble a "Starting XI" of likeminded players. He issued the challenge in a short film about his recent trip to Mumbai, India, which shows how it takes a team rather than one person to win. Dark Horses, the sports marketing shop that is part of Lucky Generals, created the film.
