Comic Relief set for digital drives

Comic Relief is looking for agencies to orchestrate a series of online projects in the run-up to 2009's fundraising event.

Next year's Comic Relief will feature a push in UK schools as well as work with charities, related to the 'Make Poverty History' campaign.

There will also be a drive to help end the stigma of mental illness, as well as the launch of a series of as-yet-undisclosed digital consumer brands, such as Sport Relief.

Last year, Comic Relief raised more than £26m through its Sport Relief brand. However, it may have missed out on other funds after the BBC allegedly kept more than £100,000 that was meant for charities. The money was generated by callers voting after phone lines had closed on shows.

The corporation now faces a full investigation.
