As a result Event sat down with one of The Eventice partners, ESP Recruitment, to choose four industry experts to help out with one of the challenges the competitors will be taking part in on Wednesday 2 March.
Such was the calibre of applicants to get involved in the judging the decision was also taken to choose another five industry experts to act as final presetation judges for The Eventice on Thursday 3 March.
The judges that will be helping the students on their challenge in the morning of Weds 2 March will be, Keith Prowse head of marketing Ted Walker; Jillie Bushell Associates owner Jillie Bushell; the Brewery event design and marketing manager Simon Lockwood and VIP Adrenaline director Victoria Pickles.
In terms of the final presentations four judges will be joining ESP and Excel London - who is giving the winner a job - to provide their opinions and views on the three finalists. These will include COI head of events Simon Hughes; Smyle managing director Rick Stainton; Mobile Promotions managing director Robin Carlisle and Locog advance manager, torch relays Dan Schofield.
The winner of The Eventice, which will be announced at 3.30pm at Confex on Thursday 3 March on th floating bar, will be given a job at Excel London.
The Eventice is a competition for final year event management students. The candidates will have to create an event and take part in a selection of challenges at International Confex from 1-3 March.
