Coffee Republic to offer free WiFi to customers

LONDON - Coffee shop chain Coffee Republic is to launch free WiFi to customers following a successful month-long trial earlier this year.

Coffee Republic to offer free WiFi to customers
Free WiFi will be available from May 1st across the majority of the nationwide chain. Customers will receive a free voucher with a login code allowing them to access the shop’s wireless hotspot.

Customers will have to spend a minimum of £2 to receive access, which will provide them with 20 minutes surfing time. A £5 purchase will grant users 45 minutes on the web.

Coffee Republic’s landing page will also carry advertising for other brands. The offer will be promoted in-store with leaflets and posters. Its WiFi offering was previously a paid for service at £4.50 an hour.

Rival coffee chain Starbucks currently charges customers extra for WiFi access. McDonalds introduced free WiFi across its restaurants in October last year.
