Codemasters to run in-game ads

Codemasters, the video-games company, has hired IGA Worldwide to attract in-game advertisers for three of its games due for release in 2007.

The specialist agency has been briefed to recruit advertisers for Colin McRae Rally, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 and a third, undisclosed, title.

The games will launch on next-generation console formats and PC; Colin McRae Rally will also be available as a mobile phone game.

The games will feature in-game audio, video and billboard advertising. If played in online mode, ads in the games will update with real-time offers.

IGA Worldwide's creative communications consultancy, IGA Hive, will be responsible for creating static ads, interactive product placements and co-promotional activities.
