Coca-Cola plots football activity

Coca-Cola GB has asked advertising agency Mother to create an ad campaign to support its sponsorship of the rebranded Coca-Cola Football League.

Mother will be responsible for the marketing strategy and campaign to support the drinks giant's 拢15m three-year sponsorship of the league, which is being branded The Championship.

The work will centre on promoting the main Coke brand and Powerade, the official sports drink of the Football League.

Wieden & Kennedy in Amsterdam had held the account for Coke's UK football advertising. It has been dormant since Coke's sponsorship of ITV's coverage of the Premier League ended last season.

W&K created Leggsy, the animated star of Coke's 'super sub' World Cup ad campaign in 2002.
