The soft drinks giant has partnered with Westminster City Council to install the units to help recycle some of the 11,000 tonnes of waste that gets thrown away in the capital every day.
Locations for the bins include Oxford Circus, Piccadilly and Shaftsbury Avenue.
The bins will have one side for ordinary rubbish and one side for recyclable materials such as paper, plastic bottles and aluminium cans, and are branded with Westminster City Council and Coca-Cola logos.
Coca-Cola claims the deal marks its biggest recycling collaboration to date and is raising awareness of it with a two-week outdoor advertising campaign starting on Monday 29 March.
In September Coca-Cola rolled out an advertising campaign called 'Keep it Going. Recycle' aimed at getting the UK to recycle more. The activity supported recycle zones operating in destinations including Thorpe Park and Manchester Airport and in Southampton's City Centre.
There are currently 44 Coca-Cola recycle zones across the UK with plans to double this double in the run up to the Olympics.
Liz Lowe, citizenship manager at Coca-Cola Great Britain said: "We want to use the power of the Olympics to inspire consumers to help make London more sustainable in the run up to 2012 and long after."
