CNN gives Davies international role

CNN has promoted its London and regional sales chief, Jonathan Davies, to lead international sales.

Davies, who joined CNN in 2001, having previously been managing partner at MindShare, replaces Kevin Razvi, who has resigned his post to "pursue opportunities outside the company".

In his new role, Davies will head a sales team of more than 200. He joined CNN as head of its global client solutions group, forging TV ad partnerships with the likes of Shell, Nokia and InterContinental Hotels, having led the Ford Motor account at MindShare.

Jim Walton, president of CNN Worldwide, said: "Jonathan brings uncommon professional experience, strategic perspective and demonstrated leadership ability to one of the most critical roles in the CNN organization."

"I'm honoured to have been given the opportunity to lead such a fantastic team into the next phase of CNN International's growth in the new digital era," Davies added.
