CMP buys Quest Media

CMP Information, a UK-based division of United Business Media, has acquired conference and trade magazine company Quest Media for £5m.

The purchase gives the company six awards events including the National Business Awards and National Sales Awards, three conferences including the annual world-wide web conference, and trade magazine Customer Management.
Quest recently announced it had teamed up with The Daily Telegraph to launch an ethical living show in October.
The group will be incorporated into CMP Information's events portfolio, which hosts tradeshows, conferences and awards.
In the year to November 2006, Quest generated revenues of £3.7m and UBM expects the acquisition to help it meet its 8% post-tax cost-of-capital criterion in 2007.
