The high-street greetings-card chain, which owns more than 700 branches across the UK, has hired Loewy-owned brand consultancy Branded to undertake a 'wide-ranging' review of its strategy.

The project, which is expected to be completed before the end of the year, will include the brand's visual identity as well as store design and layout.

Last July, Clinton Cards announced plans to buy nearly 200 branches from Birthdays, the loss-making subsidiary it had placed into administration earlier in the year.

Clinton Cards' pre-tax profits for the 26 weeks to 31 January rose 29% year on year to £19.6m.
