Clear Channel streamlines group management

Outdoor media company Clear Channel is bringing its brands under a single management structure and has promoted the managing director of its Adshel division, Julie France, to the role of group managing director.

France will oversee all Clear Channel's outdoor businesses, including bus shelter advertising division Adshel and its billboard and Taxi Media divisions. Adshel sales director Rob Atkinson has been promoted to group sales director. He was commercial director at Ireland on Sunday before joining Clear Channel last year.

The restructure follows the decision of Jonathan Lewis, Clear Channel Billboard managing director, to leave in November, after six years with the company. Lewis has no plans to join another firm.

Clear Channel chief executive Stevie Spring said the decision to create a single management team was taken to encourage sales across its formats.

'It will make us easier to access for advertisers.'

France joined Clear Channel in 1998 from The Express newspaper, where she was group advertisement director. She was promoted to Adshel managing director three years ago.
