Clear Channel to retain Leeds deal

LEEDS - Clear Channel Outdoor has retained the contract for Leeds City Council, which will see it operating advertising displays in the city for another five years.

Following a five-way pitch, the contractor, which has held the business for the last six years, has been granted control of 71 key 48-sheet and 96-sheet displays.

These include the Monopole Special on the M621, for which planning consent has already been obtained to install lightboxes.

Barry Sayer, chief executive of Clear Channel Outdoor UK, has pledged to "invest heavily in upgrading a number of the displays" in the city.
