Clark McKay & Walpole makes raft of senior hires

LONDON - Clark McKay & Walpole has made a number of senior appointments, including Paul Vallois as business development director and Hamish Grant as client services director.

Vallois was business development director at Maher Bird Associates from early 2005. He was previously at retail agency Baber Smith, where he occupied a variety of roles, including board director, over six years.

Grant has worked in direct marketing for 14 years and joins from Harrison Troughton Wunderman, where he was a business director on a number of accounts including Microsoft. He will work across all CMW clients.

The other appointments include a new head of CMW Interactive in David Smith, replacing Sean Hanneberry, who left to return home to Australia. Smith joins Interactive from start-up Cineregularity, where he was a director. He is a former EHS Brann digital director and board member, having spent eight years there from 1996 to 2004.

Francis Smith has been appointed as head of data planning, reporting to planning director Ben Rachel. He was head of customer insight for Which? between 2001 and 2005, and has almost two decades of relationship marketing experience at companies such as Abbey National and Saga and agency-side at IMP (now part of Arc).

Martin Nieri, managing director of the agency, said: "We have spent a great deal of time and energy to select people who are at the top of their game for these vital positions."
