Clarion Events joined the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) last month. The in-house organising arm of Earls Court and Olympia follows in the footsteps of the NEC’s Centre Exhibitions, which joined the AEO in September after the trade body relaxed the rules on venue-owned organisers becoming members. Clarion revealed an interest in membership exclusively to Marketing Event in July. Clarion managing director Simon Kimble said: “We feel it is important to get behind the industry with a cohesive and united voice.” Meanwhile, the London Arena has joined the AEO as an associate member.
