
Hellier has been at City AM for eight years and served as deputy editor for five years before his stint as acting editor. Prior to this he spent approximately three and a half years as business news editor at The Independent and seven years as chief city correspondent at Express Newspapers.
The previous editor of the free newspaper was Allister Heath, who was appointed deputy editor of The Daily Telegraph in March.
Sidwell, currently managing editor at City AM will now be responsible for all content across print and digital platforms. He served as managing editor more two and a half years and was business features editor at the paper for one year and nine months prior to that.
He joined City AM from the think tank International Policy Network where he was media director for more than 18 months.
