Citroen ads push C-charge benefit

Citroen is planning to use future ad campaigns to highlight the exemption of its low-emission models from London's Congestion Charge.

The French manufacturer currently has 23 models that are exempt, including the C1 and C2 VDS HDi. It plans to feature them in a series of ads to capitalise on growing consumer concern about the environment.

Under the fresh proposals, which come into effect on 27 October, vehicles with CO2 emissions of less than 120g/km can enter central London free of charge; drivers of those emitting between 120g/km and 225g/km will be subject to the current £8 fee. Vehicles that emit more than 225g/km will have to pay a hefty £25 a day.
