CIA chief executive McAnena picked to lead agency merger

CIA chief executive Fiona McAnena is to head the merger of her

agency and The Media Edge.

McAnena told Media Business she will work closely with James Whitmore,

managing director of TME, to consolidate both media operations into one

brand.

"I am not as client-focused as others within our group, which puts me in

a better position to manage the project," she said.

Although McAnena said job titles within the new structure have not yet

been finalised, it is believed that as head of the merger process,

McAnena is well-placed to become the consolidated agency's first chief

executive.

Heads of both agencies held a meeting at the end of last week to

negotiate senior management posts. Senior management cuts are expected

to follow.
