Childhood trauma victims reconnect with role models in powerful Ad Council films

Videos from Wunderman get their premiere today at the White House

Today at the White House, the Ad Council, in partnership with Wunderman, Futures Without Violence and the U.S. Department of Justice, debuts two films as part of a new campaign called "Changing Minds." The campaign, inspired by real stories, works to show that adults can use everyday gestures to comfort more than the 60% of children in the U.S. who have been affected by trauma. In the 5:30 film "Chad," a boy reflects on the physical abuse he received from his dad while he visits a coach who showed him kindness in school. The 5:54 film "Unique" tells the story of a girl who visits her theater teacher who taught her to love despite a violent past. Each video has a 60-second version and will run on social channels and in print. There is also a 1:08 video that focuses on the science behind childhood trauma.
