The national airline of the United Arab Emirates joins official travel partner Thomas Cook, official beer Heineken and official secondary ticket provider Viagogo as a platinum sponsor of the Premiership club.
The seven-figure deal will see the Etihad logo and branding appear at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium.
The airline will also gain exposure through the club's match-day programmes, website and other official publications.
As part of the deal the club is weighing up the possibility of undertaking pre-season tours to the UAE and the Far East.
