Channel X to provide content to FremantleMedia Enterprises

LONDON - FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has signed an exclusive development deal with UK comedy and entertainment producers Channel X.

The deal will grant FME the first option on all of Channel X's scripted comedy programming, with rights across television, DVD and ancillary rights, including new media, worldwide (excluding the primary broadcaster territory).

Having worked with celebrities such as Jonathan Ross, Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, David Mitchell, Rik Mayall and Jo Brand, and headed up by managing director Alan Marke and director of programmes Jim Reid, Channel X is one of the UK's leading comedy production companies.

The deal was announced by FME chief executive David Ellender and brokered by head of acquisitions and development Shane Murphy.
