Exhibition organiser Incisive Media said the move was to allow the event to be closer to the majority of the London-based visitor and exhibitor base.
"After extensive analysis of both our exhibitor and visitor databases, we have decided to move Channel Expo to London. Not only is London nearer to most of our visitor base, it also makes sense for our exhibitors, many of whom are based in the South East," said Incisive Media publisher Mark Burton.
"Kensington Olympia will provide Channel Expo with better facilities, easier access and an opportunity for growth," he added.
The show will take place next year in Olympia's National Hall from 12 to 13 May.
Separately, Olympia owner EC&O Venues is hosting an event about "Understanding BS8901" on 24 June.
The event will take place on 24 June at the Olympia Conference Centre, coinciding with the Excite! show at Earls Court.
