According to Channel 4 , it will make its broadcasts accessible to 'Second Life''s 1.2m-strong online community, and provide a 'Second Life' radio show reporting on daily news within the game's virtual community.
Last month, news agency Reuters put a journalist dubbed "Adam Reuters" in 'Second Life', to report on wars, crime and business.
Nathalie Schwarz, Channel 4's director of radio, said: "Being the first radio station to launch in 'Second Life' enables us to bring our range of programmes to new audiences who are interested in interactive content.
"Radio might be the oldest broadcast medium in the world, but technology opens up massive new opportunities for the future and Channel 4 Radio's presence in 'Second Life' propels it to the forefront of technology."
Channel 4 Radio will join many other pop culture references and brands now featuring in 'Second Life', including 80s band Duran Duran, hotel chain Aloft, and ad agencies Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Leo Burnett/Arc, which have opened creative departments in the game.
A version of Channel 4's 'Big Brother' is also to debut in 'Second Life' in the near future, featuring 15 virtual contestants battling it out to win the competition.
Paul Romer, managing director of Endemol Netherlands, told the BBC: "'Big Brother Second Life' represents a fantastic opportunity to amass knowledge of the virtual world."
Endemol UK has not yet responded to the reports.
The game, which was developed by San Francisco-based company Linden Lab, launched in 2003.
