Channel 4 adds Paralympic World Cup to its schedule

Channel 4 will broadcast the BT Paralympic World Cup, which will take place in Manchester from 23 to 28 May.

The event will take place in Manchester, hosting the occasion for the seventh consecutive year.

It will include wheelchair basketball, athletics and swimming in addition to boccia and sitting volleyball.

Channel 4, , will kick off its coverage with daily highlights on 26 and 27 May, followed by a live two-hour programme on 28 May.

To mark the launch of the 2011 BT Paralympic World Cup, wheelchair basketball player Simon Munn, paralympic swimming champion Liz Johnson and recent IPC Athletics world champion Richard Whitehead took part in an underwater photoshoot at the Manchester Aquatics Centre.

BT is entering its third year as title sponsor, in a deal that runs up to and includes the 2012 BT Paralympic World Cup.

The BT Paralympic World Cup is sanctioned by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and supported by ParalympicsGB, BT and Manchester City Council.

Tickets for the BT Paralympic World Cup will be available from March 2011.
