Change UK – The Independent Group, the party launched by 11 former Labour and Conservative MPs earlier this year, has appointed The & Partnership London as its full-service agency.
The & Partnership will provide strategic advice, creative advertising, design, data analytics and media planning and buying services to the party, which launched its campaign for next month’s European Parliament elections yesterday (Tuesday).
Candidates revealed to be standing for the party include former Newsnight presenter Gavin Esler and Rachel Johnson, journalist and sister of Tory MPs Boris and Jo Johnson.
The & Partnership’s first work was the creation of a new logo, which takes the form of four horizontal lines arranged in a square, with the party’s name to the right, also on four lines.
It replaces a previous logo that was rejected by the Electoral Commission because it contained a hashtag.
Johnny Hornby, chairman and global chief executive of The & Partnership, said: "With Nigel Farage, the Brexit Party and the ERG at one end and Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott at the other, any centrist-minded, pro-business, pro-European should be as actively and passionately supportive of Change UK – The Independent Group as we are."
Change UK will be competing against two other UK-wide parties that support a second referendum on Brexit: the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party. The trio have faced calls to join forces as a united representation of Remain supporters to more effectively counter Farage’s Brexit Party, which polls suggest will finish first in the vote, ahead of Labour and the Conservatives.
