Center Parcs hands £4m media account to MediaCom

LONDON - MediaCom has triumphed in the review of family holiday village firm Center Parcs' £4m media planning and buying account, following a competitive pitch.

MediaCom won the business after a pitch against Carat and Manning Gottlieb OMD. Incumbent media agency ZenithOptimedia did not take part in the pitch. The review of the account was instigated by sales and marketing director Jennie Ayres.

MediaCom's appointment is the third made by Center Parcs since last January, when Burkitt DDB was appointed as the creative agency, replacing Bates. A month later, WWAV Rapp Collins North was appointed to overhaul its customer marketing activity.

Zenith won the media work for Center Parcs in August 2001. It was previously handled by Bates.

Center Parcs operates three of its branded holiday villages in the UK, with one run under the Oasis name. The company primarily targets families but has also attempted to get a slice of the corporate market. The first village, Sherwood Forest, opened in 1987.
