Two undisclosed agencies have been approached to pitch for the £1.5m launch business. A press campaign is scheduled to break next year.
Food manufacturer Corone Products will produce the range, which includes pre-prepared meals and side dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a selection of healthy snacks.
Food Angels will be positioned as tasty, healthy food to combat obesity and diabetes. Pre-prepared meals will include seafood skewers and Thai wraps. The carbohydrates used in the line will be low-glycaemic and the product range will vary with the seasons.
Side dishes, such as Oriental greens and pumpkin mash, are to be branded Superfoods. Corone Products chief executive John Roberts said Superfoods provide a healthy option because "what people eat with their main meal is often less nutritious".
Snacks will include prepared fruit - such as semi-dried cranberries and banana chips - and a selection of flavoured rice cakes. The breakfast line-up will include porridge bowls and wheat-free mueslis.
Food Angels is in talks with Waitrose and Asda about listings by the end of the year. The company hopes to introduce the brand to all major supermarket chains.
Generic Food Angels packaging has been designed by brand consultancy Loewy. Packaging for specific products will be adapted for conjunction with supermarkets once the range is finalised.
