The activity, dubbed 'An Ooo Experience', kicked off last week and will visit a number of Intu shopping centres between now and the 10 July. The experience will offer visitors a chance to jump into the Land of Ooo and play alongside their favourite characters as they battle to save Candy Kingdom from the Nightosphere.
Developed by Hellicar & Lewis, 'An Ooo Experience' places players in front of a giant LED Screen while motion sensors allow them to interact and play with characters and landscapes from the series. Players are guided by a real life Wizard of Ooo and taken on a 'journey' through The Candy Kingdom, where they are transformed into life-size versions of their favourite Adventure Time characters. The experience gives players the power to shoot magic from their fingertips, move mountains, grow candy floss trees, breathe life into rainbows and take part in a dance party.
Richard Kinning, UK creative director at Turner, which operates Cartoon Network, said: "We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Hellicar&Lewis to launch Adventure Time’s first-ever live interactive experience. This game was inspired by our massive fan-base for the show; we wanted to offer them a unique Adventure Time experience like never before. ‘An Ooo Experience’ offers players a mix of theatre, character interaction and the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in the Land of Ooo."
The activation was launched at Intu Merry Hill in the West Midlands on the 11 June and will next visit Intu Lakeside in Essex on the 18-19 June, before heading to Manchester Arndale on the 25-26 June, followed by Intu MetroCentre in Newcastle, with a final stop on the 9-10 July at Intu Braehead in Glasgow.
