Carr appointed commercial director for youth at Emap

LONDON - Emap Advertising has appointed Andy Carr to the position of commercial director for youth, concentrating on the Kerrang! and Kiss brands.

As part of the appointment, Carr will broaden his current role of commercial director on Kerrang! to include responsibility for Emap's dance station Kiss.

Carr will focus on Emap's radio business and report to Bruce Daisley, head of agency sales at Emap Advertising, and work alongside the insight team, the research arm of Emap Advertising.

Prior to joining Emap Advertising's radio team in August 2005, Carr held the position of head of brand and entertainment sales at Capital Radio.

Carr said: "Radio is the media that is synonymous with youth. With market leading insight and the best youth brands in the market we are uniquely placed to exploit the new media landscape and offer advertisers an unrivalled engagement with youth audiences."

Karen Stacey, broadcast and interactive sales director at Emap Advertising, said: "This is an exciting time for youth advertisers and radio alike. As commercial director for two of our most successful radio brands, Andy will ensure that Emap Advertising customers are always fully briefed on the latest consumer trends and creative media thinking around youth audiences."
