Carphone Warehouse overhauls marketing team

LONDON - Carphone Warehouse has completed a major restructure of its marketing department following the part-acquisition of its retail business by US consumer electronics giant Best Buy.

Tristia Clarke, Carphone Warehouse's group marketing director, has been appointed to the role of chief marketing officer for Best Buy Europe, a joint venture between the two firms. She will oversee the introduction of European Best Buy superstores.

Anna James, former strategy and ecommerce director at Mothercare, joins Carphone Warehouse as UK marketing director. James will become a member of the UK executive board and report to Tristia Clarke.

Michelle Henderson, Carphone Warehouse's interim UK marketing director, has been appointed customer marketing director of tech support business Geek Squad and Best Buy Europe. Henderson has been interim marketing director for the company since the departure of Dominic Rowell at the end of last year.
