Carlsburg reshuffle focuses on marketers with international experience

LONDON - Carlsberg has brought in two new senior marketing executives as part of its wide-ranging restructuring programme.

Khalil Younes has been appointed senior vice president, group innovation, sales & marketing and Nils Ostbirk has been appointed senior vice president, Western Europe. They replace Jan Hillesland and Alex Myers respectively who are leaving the Carlsberg Group. Senior vice president Jesper Bjorn Madsen, who is responsible for the Asia Region, is also stepping down and a search for his successor is under way.

Younes joins from The Coca-Cola Company where he holds the position of vice president, global juice marketing. He will also head up a new and fully integrated innovation function at Carlsberg when he joins next month.

Ostbirk is currently Zone Director, Northern Europe at L'Oreal, where he is based in Paris and starts at the brewer in March.

Jorgen Buhl Rasmussen, president and chief executive of the Carlsberg Group, said: ‘Following the Scottish & Newcastle-acquisition Carlsberg has been transformed into a much larger and more global FMCG company. This requires strong and internationally experienced leadership throughout the organisation.'
