The average listener number for the entire show, which runs until 10am, rises to 944,000, up only 1,000 average listeners' quarter on quarter, making it the most popular London radio show between 6am and 10am, when the extra hour is taken into account.
However, between the key 6am to 9am time period for advertisers, Magic's Neil Fox breakfast show has beaten Heart's Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott to become the number one commercial breakfast show in London.
Magic attracted an average weekly audience of 868,000 listeners between 6am and 9am, according to Rajar, while Heart's audience stood at 844,000 listeners. Between 6am and 9am, Capital attracted an average of 772,000 listeners.
Meanwhile, the Rajars showed that listening via digital radio fell slightly quarter on quarter, from 31.4% to 31%, although this is up from the 26.2% figure of Q2 2007.
DAB average weekly listening hours stood at 111 million, up from 74 million in Q2 2007, while listener hours via the internet have grown from 16m hours in Q2 2007 to 20 million hours in Q2.
Elsewhere, the Rajars show that commercial radio enjoyed a strong Q2, with its total national share rising from a record low the previous quarter from 41.1% to 42.4%. The BBC's overall share fell from 56.8% in Q1 to 55.5% in Q2.
National commercial stations' share climbed from 10.7% in Q1 2008 to 11.2% in Q2, which was the same as a year ago.
Radio 1's share fell from 10.6% to 10% and Radio 2's share dropped from 16.5% to 16%.
Capital's breakfast show audience drops more than 7%
LONDON - GCap's move to reunite Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen on Capital 95.8's breakfast show has failed to generate significant audience gains, with the latest Rajars showing the show's listener numbers between the all-important 6am to 9am slot fell by 7.6% year on year.
