On Friday and Saturday nights, from 10pm until 6am, the station will run The Capital Weekender with Ministry of Sound, a non-stop mix of music.

The partnership between Capital and Ministry of Sound is not backed by a paid-for sponsorship.

Capital Xtra, the London FM and national DAB radio station, will also go ad free during the same eight-hour slots.

The eight-hour show will be hosted by DJs including Coco Cole, Mike Wooller and Goldierocks.

Ashley Tabor, the founder and executive president of Global and Capital’s managing editor, said: "These shows lend themselves perfectly to the non-stop nature of ad-free programming and I’m delighted Global is able to be bold and deliver the right output at the right time to the listener."
