The title for the 拢711m union between Capital Radio Group and GWR has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks as senior positions have been slowly been filled and regulatory clearance awarded by competition watchdogs.
Employees across both existing groups were consulted on the name for the new company, while the design branding was created by Capital Radio鈥檚 in-house team.
Ralph Bernard, executive chairman of GWR, said: 鈥淭he name GCap Media retains elements of both the Capital Radio and GWR brands and reflects the important contribution both businesses will make to the Merged Group.

A website for the company 鈥 gcapmedia.com 鈥 will be available from Monday 21 March.
