Capital finalises reshuffle with Peppers appointment

LONDON – Capital Radio Group has completed the restructure of its marketing team with the appointment of Universal Studio Network's sponsorship director Marian Peppers as its head of commercial marketing.

Peppers will head up the strategic business marketing of the Capital Radio Group brands, which include Capital FM, Capital Gold, Xfm and Century FM. She replaces Jane Bardsley, who moved to Emap Performance as marketing product manager for music in October.

Peppers will report to commercial marketing director Gavin Miller, who joined Capital in August from Starcom Motive where he was group account director. He took over the role from Linda Grant, who was promoted to commercial managing director.

Miller said: "Marian brings with her a wealth of commercial acumen. I believe she will be a great asset in helping shape, drive and deliver an effective sales and marketing strategy in line with the vision of the commercial division."

The restructure also saw head of sponsorship and promotion Mike Hope-Milne move to brand sales director and Chris Bennett, who was group sales director, was promoted to commercial development director early last year.

Peppers has more than 13 years' experience working with media owners in the UK and internationally. At Universal Studio Networks she was responsible for developing alliances with brands on the Sci-Fi Channel. She will take up her role in February.
