Condover's interest follows yesterday's news that the business media publisher is in £3bn merger talks with United Business Media.
Reports suggest that Candover would make its approach alongside Cinven, which co-owns Springer, the German publishing group.
Informa, publisher of Lloyd's List, previously turned down an offer of 630p per share from Springer just under two years ago. Talks broke down after several weeks.
Shares in Informa leapt 13% yesterday to close at 437.5p after the group confirmed speculation that it was in talks with UBM.
By 11.30am this morning Informa's shares were up another 2.51% to 448.5p.
