Cancer Research UK airs TV campaign

A father doing his daughter's hair before a ballet class and musing 'If only her mother was still here' is one of the scenarios in Cancer Research UK's direct response TV campaign. The 60-second spot also features a mother handing her newborn baby over to her mum with the caption 'If only dad could be here today'. The voiceover stresses how regular donations can help stop people dying from cancer. 'Songbird' by Eva Cassidy - who herself died of cancer in 1996 - is the soundtrack to the spot. The ad ends with a boy at a swimming competition, seemingly without his father, but his dad arrives at the last minute. Created by WWAV Rapp Collins, it will broadcast on a range of satellite and cable channels.
