±±¾©Èü³µpk10 TV: Ogilvy's global creative chief calls on marketers to be braver

Ogilvy has dramatically reduced its number of Cannes entries in 2017, and Tham Khai Meng, the global chief creative officer, has called for more bravery from marketers.

Ogilvy is five times winner of the network of the year award at Cannes Lions.

"We’ve scaled back significantly," Ogilvy’s global chief executive John Seifert said. "We wanted to save money to spend on better talent, a remixing of talent, new capabilities. Every penny matters. But it felt like we had as much winning work this year as we have in previous years. We think quality matters more than quantity."

So how confident is Ogilvy of taking the Network of the Year accolade yet again? Tham Khai Meng said: "If you put a gun to my head, I’d say we have a 50/50 chance of winning the network of the year award this time round."

Khai made a plea for more bravery from clients in his video interview with ±±¾©Èü³µpk10.
