±±¾©Èü³µpk10 has joined forces with Image Bank, the UK’s largest
picture and film library, to launch a creative photography competition
that aims to unearth the hottest talent in the industry.
The competition is open to readers of ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 worldwide and will be
judged by a high-profile panel, including the photographer, Nadav
Kander, and the designer, Wally Olins.
They will be joined by Roland Schenk, the creative director of
±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s publisher, Haymarket Publishing; Rebecca Willis, the travel
editor of Vogue; and Image Bank’s photographer, Paul Biddle and its
managing director, Mark Cass.
The competition will encompass six categories with deliberately loose
definitions to give entrants a free rein creatively. The six categories
are: Street Life, Private View, Young and Old, Global Brief, Sporting
Life and Working World.
Cass said: ’There is a pool of untapped talent out there and we want to
encourage contributions from people who are looking for an opportunity
to be creative.’
The six category winners will each receive pounds 250 worth of
photographic goods at Metro/Tapestry. The overall winner will win a
weekend trip to New York, including a visit to Image Bank’s head office,
and pounds 1,000 worth of Metro/Tapestry goods.
Competition and entry details are available on page 15 of this issue and
on the Image Bank Website (www.imagebank.co.uk).
