Agency.com has lost another creative director with the departure of Steve Mulholland to rival agency digital@JWT.
His departure follows that of the senior creative director Jason Young, who left Agency.com at the end of last year to join the e-business company PixelPark.
Agency.com has also announced 190 global job losses, including 30 lay-offs at its UK offices.
Mulholland will become the first creative director at digital@JWT.
While at Agency.com, Mulholland worked on accounts including Barclays Bank and British Airways. Before that, he worked in Sydney at the new-media agency Digiland, where he was the creative director.
Digital@JWT provides its clients, who include Kellogg, Deloitte & Touche and Shell, with strategic and consulting services rather than production.
The agency has a relationship with the new-media agency Syzygy through its parent company, WPP, and Syzygy handles the majority of new-media production for digital@JWT's clients.
Jeremy Davies, the managing director of digital@JWT, said that the agency does not intend to open a production arm. 'Steven's role is to bring a creative and technological perspective to our client solutions,' he said.
Last October, J. Walter Thompson announced the formal launch of digital@ JWT as a digital consultancy, which was intended to function independently of the main advertising agency (±±¾©Èü³µpk10, 20 October 2000). At that time, 75 per cent of the new-media division's clients were outside the traditional agency's client portfolio.
