Camelot shortlists seven agencies for £24m lottery task

LONDON - Camelot, the National Lottery operator, has shortlisted seven agencies as it reviews its 拢24m advertising account out of WCRS.

The seven agencies do not include WCRS, which has held the business for five years, after it declined to defend the account.

The seven shortlisted agencies are Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO; BMP DDB; Delaney Lund Knox Warren; Clemmow Hornby Inge; TBWA\London; Fallon; and Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

The inclusion of AMV BBDO was seen as a foregone conclusion after it was appointed to produce the launch campaign for EuroMillions, Camelot's new European lottery, due to launch next year with a 拢35m jackpot.

AMV won the business after a two-way shootout against WCRS. The agency shortlist is being handled by the AAR.

Phil Smith, the commercial director at Camelot, told 北京赛车pk10 recently: "We have been working closely with WCRS for five years. We have a duty to make sure we have the best advertising strategy in place and we look to review our commercial relationships on a regular basis."

The review will be run by a team comprising Smith; Camelot chief executive Dianne Thompson; director of marketing and communications Jo Kenrick; and the player marketing controller Nicole Louis.
